Making a real difference in 2017!

As the year comes to an end, I look back at this special garden and reflect on what I have achieved in 2017.

Taking on this typically English garden in late summer, I was tasked with getting it under control. It’s a lovely established country garden in Horsted Keynes, Sussex.

Rising to the challenge I began to clear, weed, prune, trim and tidy under the watchful eye of Alison (head gardener & owner)

I’ve enjoyed the company of ‘Bear’ the owners lovely black Labrador. The black, red and white ‘Great Spotted Woodpecker’ and the sound of the steam trains rattling through.

I’m pleased to be handing back the garden in 2018. As Alison is now fit and well and back to full health.

“You’ve made a real improvement overall and I feel much more able to try and keep that going myself in the spring” Alison & Ben – Horsted Keynes, Sussex.

Hurst (4 day) project. Putting this garden to bed for the winter.

We were asked to get this garden ready for the Winter, with an Autumn garden tidy.

Crammed full of lots of trees, laurel hedges, raised flower beds full of hardy perennial plants. We took to the challenge trimming, pruning and cutting.

What the client said:

“So, pleased with the result. You’ve worked like a machine! I can’t believe what you’ve achieved in the time. Thank you for your hard work”

Peter – Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex.

Steyning, West Sussex ‘Mini Decking Project’

A perfect solution and quick too. Whilst trimming the lawn for this client, it became clear that a mini decking would help this couple enjoy their garden even more. As you can see their dog ‘Barney’ loves it too!

What the client said:

“This is something we’ve been meaning to get around to since we completed house extension project. It’s transformed our garden – thank you Al”

Autumn garden tidy. Cottage garden Hurstpierpoint

Yesterday Al’s gardens gave this garden a mini makeover to tidy it up for Autumn. Everything was overgrown and need a good prune and trim.

We uncovered loads of lovely plants such as potted Acer trees, holly trees, bay trees and many more…

First blog post

Here’s a garden makeover we did last year in Burgess Hill. This one was a bit more than a spruce up!

This is what we did:

  • Landscaped and created separate areas in this long and narrow garden
  • Fitted artificial grass as the client was looking for a low maintenance garden
  • Planted large architectural plants such as Astelia nervosa, Grasses & Bamboo
  • Fitted weed membrane and covered with beach pebbles
  • Created a Koi pond with waterfall
  • Built a pergola and decking area to create an outdoor eating and entertaining area

What the client said:

“Our garden was transformed by Al’s Garden Maintenance team of landscapers. We now have a garden that we are proud and love to use all year round – delighted with the result!”
